Good news in the carrot transplant world: they’re doing great! Not sure what all fuss is about in the gardening books or maybe I just lucked out by choosing one of the few transplant techniques that work. Dunno. But, if the carrots fail now, it won’t be because they were transplanted. Take a look, as of 9.21.08:
A lot of carrot seeds sprouted in the Spring, as I commented in a previous post, and I’m still harvesting from that crop. I’m finally getting the crazy plot thinned out so I can actually see carrots I’ve overlooked. Some of those suckas have grown reeeeally big. Get a load of these Purple Dragons and Sweet Treats:
The Purple Dragons were split and unusable (or, at least, unappetizing) (the splits are hidden so this picture would be pretty). The Sweet Treats, however, were perfect and still sweet, and went into the Sunday night dinner of Mulligatawny soup.
