Use a sharp chef's knife to remove the kernels from the cobs; transfer to a large bowl (stand up a cob in the center of a large bowl and slice downward, is one way to easily remove and catch the kernels).
In a medium bowl, combine the water, sugar, and salt, and stir until dissolved. Pour over the kernels and stir to coat. Let sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then drain and discard the liquid.
Spoon the kernels into freezer bags or containers, and place in the freezer. Corn will store for several months.
