A festive and super easy holiday recipe, Christmas Wreath Appetizers look fabulous on your appetizer table. Topped with cream cheese garlic spread, chopped veggies, and herbs, these irresistible bites will disappear in no time!
2cans crescent rolls, well chilled(rolled up dough)
1cupfinely chopped vegetables*
6ouncesspreadable herbed or garlic cream cheese(such as Boursin or Alouette)
1teaspoondried herbs, such as dill, basil, tarragon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Remove the very cold dough from cans (do not unroll the dough).
Slice the dough tubes into 1/2" rounds (pat them back into a round shape if slicing flattened them out a little). A small serrated knife works great here.
Arrange the slices of dough on a parchment-lined round pizza pan or baking sheet about 1/2" apart (to allow the dough to expand while baking). Make one large wreath, or a smaller double-rowed wreath.
Bake for 11 to 13 minutes, or until the tops are nice and golden. Note that the instructions on the can call for less time, but because the dough is unrolled, it takes a little longer to bake.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Spread the cream cheese on the top of each round (a nice wide spreader or offset spatula makes easy work of this), taking care not to break the wreath apart.
Top each round with a big pinch of the vegetables, patting lightly to secure them into the spread. Sprinkle herbs over the top.
Transfer to a serving platter or board, if desired.
